Analytical Chemistry Specialist
Responsibilities:
The scale up support will work closely with the company’s CTO. As a part of the basic responsibility, you will work on developing new formulations, quality control process, troubleshooting using field samples, designing new products and some minor sales support. The individual may require to participation in certain training courses to gain new skills or to improve them. Further responsibilities will be communicated in detail during the interview process.
Minimum Requirements:
Strong analytical chemistry background.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD in Chemistry or equivalent with 3+ years of experience.
Highly organized. You are required to document experiments and results and retain them.
Ability to travel at least 10%.
Reasonable communication skills.
Proven ability to effectively work within a Team.
Legal immigration status with authorization to work in the USA.
What makes you a technically perfect candidate?
Prior established experience with analyzing aqueous solutions containing metal ions and organics.
Examples of such industries are wet electrochemical manufacturing (electroplating, electroless plating, etc.) and wastewater treatment of metal industries.
Experience with selecting organic additives for aquas systems.
Other key skill sets that you must have or learn as soon as possible upon hiring.
Prior experience with analytical techniques such as AA, IC, and/or ICP.
If you don’t know basic metal characterizations, such as XRF, Hardness, etc., you must have desire to learn them.
If you don't know Design of Experiment, then you must have desire to learn and conduct it.
If you did not conduct industrial manufacturing, then you mut have desire to learn electroplating both in the lab and in industrial manufacturing scale.
Nice but not essential to have:
Experience in managing others.
Ability to travel 20% or more.
Speaking German, Japanese or Italian.
Technology scale-up experience.
Customer support experience.
Previous startup experience.
Synthetic chemistry experience.
